Though such instances occur rarely, reasons for rejection can be:

1. Lipemic samples. How do samples become Lipemic?

(a) Improper Fasting of 10-12 hours

(b) Consumption of alcohol before 48 hours

(c) Non-veg consumption in dinner before giving sample

(d) Improper sleep
2. Hemolysis in samples- It's a condition in which RBC (Red Blood Cells) break down, leading to the release of hemoglobin from within the red blood cells into the blood plasma. Samples affected by hemolysis are rejected as per Healthians protocol to avoid inaccurate results. (Hemolysis may occur due to an autoimmune disorder, or if the sample is drawn from thin veins).
3. QNS: Quantity not sufficient- Sometimes the quantity of blood sample required to conduct multiple tests may not be deemed sufficient by the lab.
4. Invalid Results: When results are out of the regular sample range.
